Welcome to the AfriGeneas Genealogy Technology Forum.
Genealogical research has come a long way, Baby. Where would we be today without computers? Without GEDCOM? Without microfiche, microfilm and machines to view them? Without cameras, tape recorders, scanners or photocopiers. Without the Master Genealogist, Personal Ancestral File or Family Tree Maker? Without the internet--bulletin boards, email, the web. Without Rootsweb, Ancestry, Heritage Quest or the AfriGeneas Forums? Without search engines!
No matter how we do our genealogy these days, there's no question that we're indebted to technology for helping us to get back to the past at lightning speed. And to preserve it for future generations. This forum is for the discussion of all things technological as it relates to genealogy -- hardware, software, websites, storage media, anything that helps us in the search for the ancestors. Lets talk about what works, what doesn't, successes, great new finds, snafus, glitches. Each one, teach one.
