OBITUARY

Joe Barefield

Joe Barefield was born in Grand Chain, Illinois, December 23rd, 1894, the son of the late Romulus and Lottie Barfield.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Sallie Henderson and to this union five children were born.  A step son Charley Wilson preceded him in death.  He claimed Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age and united with the First Missionary Baptist Church of Grand Chain, ILL., where he was a faithful and active member until his death.

Joe Barefield departed this life, Monday Morning, Nov. 26th, 1979 at the Massac Memorial Hospital, in Metropolis, Illinois having reached the age of eighty-four years and eleven months.

Besides his parents and step-son, he was also preceded in death by twelve sisters and brothers.

 He leaves to cherish his memory many family members.
